The bacteria in plaque releases toxins and, over time, can damage the gum line resulting in gingivitis (gum disease). Gingivitis can cause redness, swelling, bleeding, tissue loss and/or loosening of teeth. Nutram Oral Hygiene Cat food is formulated to benefit dental health by reducing plaque and tarter build up.
- The larger kibble size is specifically shaped to encourage the physical cleaning of teeth. As cats eat, kibble scrapes against their teeth & gently helps to remove plaque build up.
- Oat fibre is specifically added because it has long “strands” of fibre, when compared to other sources of fibre. This plays an important role in the physical cleaning of teeth.
- Alfalfa is added because it is a good source of chlorophyll, a natural breath freshener.
